The AFFORDABLE HOUSING AUTHORITY has made the qualification process for this program very easy.

Call the AFFORDABLE HOUSING AUTHORITY AT 706-699-7000 to speak with a HOUSING AUTHORITY counselor who will assist you in determining if you qualify for this AFFORDABLE HOUSING AUTHORITY program. This call should take no more than 5 minutes.

If you qualify, the HOUSING AUTHORITY will mail you a completed application for you to sign and send back in a self-addressed, postage-paid envelope.

Once temporary approval has been granted, the HOUSING AUTHORITY will set up an appointment between you and the builder to determine your choice of style of home, location, interior colors, carpet colors, etc.

Building your home normally takes between 4 and 6 months, during which time you may visit the building site as often as you wish to view the progress being made on your home.

When completed, the AFFORDABLE HOUSING AUTHORITY will provide you with a Certificate of Occupancy on your home and, if you wish, the 1 time use of a 24 foot box truck with which to move your furnishings and belongings (valid for moves within 100 miles).
